East Coast Cardinals 10, Rhode Island Salty Dogs 1

The dominating performance was punctuated by timely defense and a four-run fourth inning that blew the game open.

Atlanta Reds 4, Long Island Tides 1

CLEARWATER, FLAndrew Parrish tossed a five-hitter and Atlanta scored four runs in the eighth inning to secure a come-from-behind victory over the Long Island Tides. Trailing 1-0 and down to their final six outs, the Reds scored four times off of three hits and a critical throwing error that plated the eventual winning run.

November 5, 2016 - 55 ‘Ring’ Championship Game - Bright House Networks Field

All-Star Baseball Academy 2, Southern Maryland Titans 0

CLEARWATER, FL – In one of the greatest pitching performances in Fall Classic championship game history, Willy Boyd tossed a one-hit shutout to shock the two-time defending champions. Boyd retired the final 19 hitters, facing only three batters over the minimum, and Mike Homer hit a two-out, two-run single in the eighth to key the victory.

November 5, 2016 – 45 American Championship Game – Florida Exchange Stadium

Maryland Monarchs 5, Tampa Blue Jays 2

DUNEDIN, FL - In what started to look more and more like a pitching duel, turned into a runaway contest for the 45-and-over American division championship game at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium.

The Tampa Blue Jays held onto a 2-1 lead after the bottom of the fourth inning, but its pitching was not able to hold on. The Maryland Monarchs blew up in the top of the ninth inning for three unanswered runs and went on to defeat the Blue Jays 5-2 Saturday morning.

November 5, 2016 – 55 ‘Wind Jacket division – Florida Exchange Stadium

Team Puerto Rico 14, Philadelphia-Chicago 6

DUNEDIN, FL - The first inning was about the closest frame of the entire contest in the 55-and-over ‘wind jacket’ championship game played Saturday afternoon at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. With both teams making far trips to play in Florida, many on hand expected a tightly contested game.

Team Puerto Rico, after the opening frame, went on to scatter 12 runs over the next seven innings to easily get by Philadelphia-Chicago Coalition 14-6. Puerto Rico amassed 22 hits and took advantage of three errors made by Philadelphia-Chicago. In a game where Puerto Rico led by as many as 10 runs at one point, Philadelphia-Chicago was never able to fully regain its footing after the initial 2-2 tie.

November 5, 2016 – 45 Central Division – Carpenter Complex

Southside Warriors 5, Connecticut Top Hats 4

CLEARWATER, FL - Southside scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the eighth for the come from behind win.  The deciding run crossed the plate on a balk call.  Frank Bungevino pitched seven shutout innings in relief for the mound victory while Wally Hurd had three hits at the plate for the Top Hats.
