(Photos courtesy of Jamilyn Harvey) On Saturday, May 13, 2017, the Mid-Iowa Baseball League held a reception and induction ceremony for its Inaugural Hall of Fame class. The event took place at The Cub Club inside Principal Park, home of the AAA Iowa Cubs in Des Moines, Iowa.

The inaugural class was a large one, helping celebrate the start of the League's 24th season.  18 individuals were inducted, two posthumously, along with six teams that have finished seasons undefeated.

    The six perfect teams:

    1998 Des Moines Giants 30+ (17-0)

    2003 Des Moines Vikings 18+ (18-0)

    2003 Des Moines Giants 28+ (17-0)

    2006 Iowa Oaks 28+ (16-0)

    2007 Des Moines Bulldogs 38+ (17-0)

    2016 Des Moines Cubs 35+ (17-0)

Bill Hyland was inducted and introduced first.  Bill was a charter member, helping form the league in 1994.  He was a former New York Yankee farmhand in the late 1940s.  Bill passed away in 2007 at the age of 83.

Joe Reser was inducted next.  Joe was also a charter member of the league and was active on the field and in administrative roles since 1994.  Joe was also a regular at the World Series each fall in Phoenix.  Joe passed away unexpectedly this past December at age 54.

This photo will be hung in a hitting facility owned by inductee, Bobby Williams (B-Dub's Hittin' Shak) as Bobby was a teammate and close friend of both.
